Project details
The project aims to preserve the architectural and furnishing elements of the Cigliano garden, (locality) representative of the gardening traditions now rare not only in Tuscany but also in the rest of northern and central Italy. The inspiration for the new garden comes from the vegetable gardens and flower gardens of the late Renaissance and Baroque. The design of the new garden is based on the main axis that starts from the entrance of the Villa and extends to the Fountain of Neptune. On the basis of this axis, several modules were created with slightly different characteristics, which allow a variety of crops including flowers, aromatic plants and vegetables. In this way, the garden not only takes up the aesthetics of the past era, but also the practical function of providing useful plant products for the kitchen and home care.
