Project details
The project is funded by the European Union through the NextGenerationEU program and is part of the “National Recovery and Resilience Plan – PNRR Mission 5 Component 2 Investment 2.1.”
It aims to regenerate Corso Garibaldi, including increasing urban resilience to climate change, rebalancing space between vehicles and pedestrians without compromising mobility, and enhancing the connections between services. Actions include reducing impermeable surfaces, mitigating the heat island effect through new tree plantings, and narrowing the roadway to promote pedestrian areas. The project seeks to transform the street into an integrated urban space, fostering connections between services, green areas, and rest zones.
This vision aims to create a more livable, sustainable, and welcoming city, with large green spaces and rest areas contributing to the well-being of residents and reducing air pollution.
